YANGON, March 27 (Xinhua) -- A bomb explosion that occurred at an inn in a suburban township in Yangon Thursday afternoon was assessed to have killed the bomber himself, a news report of the Myanmar News Agency said Friday.

According to the report, Thursday's bomb blast, which took place inside a room of the Taw Win Nan Inn located in North Okkalapa township, killed a man aged over 20 with his hands and legs broken to pieces and the body and face spoiled.

Based on materials found nearby the scene, it was assessed that a time-bomb, which the man was preparing, killed himself, the report said.

The authorities linked the incident with two anti-government armed groups in exile including the ABSDF (All Burma Students' Democratic Front).

The bomb explosion was the third this month.

The first two bomb blasts, which were in series, occurred in Yangon on March 3.

With no casualties, the two bombs blasted in different locations in the former capital at an interval of over an hour with the first at the Padonma Park in Myaynigone, Sanchaung township and the second at a bus terminal at Hledan, Kamayut township.

The first bomb broke the windscreen of a light truck parking nearby, while the second one destroyed the ceiling of a passenger shelter and the glass window of a desktop printing and copying shop nearby.
