Trafficked and exploited migrant labourers in Thailand

United Nations, December 2008 - Many Burmese residents escape to Thailand seeking work. But they are often trapped in the hands of unscrupulous brokers who smuggle them across the Myanmar border. Human Rights lawyers are helping some of them to seek justice under a new law that will prosecute anyone exploiting workers.
