ျမန္မာျပည္သူတို ့၏ လြတ္လပ္ေရးေခါင္းေဆာင္ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္ သည္ ေမ ၁၄ ရက္ ၾကာသပေတးေန ့တြင္ နအဖ၏ အမိန္ ့ျဖင့္ အင္းစိန္ေထာင္ တရားရုံးတြင္ မတရားစြပ္စြဲမႈကို ရင္ဆိုင္ရေတာ့မည္ျဖစ္သည္။

၂၀၀၃ ဒီပဲယင္းအၿပီး ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္ အား ဖမ္းဆီးခဲ့မႈသည္ တရား၀င္မႈမရွိခဲ့သည့္ အျပင္၊ ယခု အေမရိကန္ ႏုိင္ငံသား အိမ္ထဲ၀င္မႈျဖင့္ အင္းစိန္ေထာင္ တရားရုံးသို ့ ဆင့္ေခၚမႈမွာလည္း တရား မွ်တမႈမရွိသည္မွာ ထင္ရွားသည္။

မၾကာခင္ကပင္ ကုလသမဂၢ လူ ့အခြင့္အေရးေကာင္စီ၏ ဥပေဒမဲ့ဖမ္းဆီးထိန္းသိမ္းမႈဆိုင္ရာ လုပ္ငန္းအဖြဲ ့ က ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္အား ဖမ္းဆီးျခင္းသည္ ႏုိင္ငံတကာ ဥပေဒတင္မကပဲ ျမန္မာျပည္တြင္း ဥပေဒကိုပါ ခ်ိဳးေဖာက္ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္ ဟု ေၾကညာလိုက္သည္။ ထိုဆံုးျဖတ္ခ်က္ကို ၾကည့္ျခင္းျဖင့္ နအဖသည္ တိုင္းျပည္ကို ဥပေဒမဲ့ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ေနသည္မွာ ပို၍ ထင္ရွားသည္။

ထိုသို ့ ဥပေဒမဲ့ လုပ္ရပ္မ်ားကို အျမန္ဆံုးရပ္တန္ ့၍ အမ်ိဴးသားေခါင္းေဆာင္ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္၊ ေဒါက္တာ တင္မ်ိဳး၀င္းႏွင့္ အျခား မတရားစြပ္စြဲမႈခံရမည့္သူမ်ား အားဖမ္းဆီးမႈ မွ အျမန္ဆံုး လႊတ္ေပးရန္ ကြ်ႏု္ပ္တို ့ ေတာင္းဆို လိုက္သည္။

အကယ္၍ ဖမ္းဆီးမႈမ်ား ျပဳလုပ္လာပါက ကြ်ႏု္ပ္တို ့အပါအ၀င္ ႏုိင္ငံတကာရွိ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္း စုၾကည္ႏွင့္ အမ်ိဳးသားဒီမိုကေရစီအဖြဲ ့ခ်ဳပ္ ေထာက္ခံသူအားလံုး ေရာက္ရာေဒသမွ နအဖကို ျပင္းျပင္းထန္ထန္ ဆႏၵျပ ဆန္ ့က်င္ ၾကလိမ့္မည္ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ႏွင့္ ထိုမွတဆင့္ ကုလသမဂၢ မွလည္း ဥပေဒမဲ့ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ေနသည့္ နအဖအား အေရးယူရန္ ကြ်ႏု္ပ္တို ့ မနားတမ္း ေတာင္းဆုိ သြားမည္ ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ႀကိဳတင္ အသိေပးလိုက္သည္။

အေမရိကန္ႏုိင္ငံသား ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္၏ အိမ္တြင္းသို ့ ၀င္သြားသည့္ ကိစၥႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္၍ ၾကား၀င္ ေျဖရွင္းေပးပါရန္ အေမရိကန္အစိုးရအားလည္း ကြ်ႏု္ပ္တို ့က ေမတၱာရပ္ခံ လိုက္သည္။

ဆက္လက္၍ ၁၉၉၁ ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းေရး ႏုိဘလ္ဆုရွင္ႏွင့္ အမ်ိဳးသားေခါင္းေဆာင္ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္း စုၾကည္အား ႏုိင္ငံတကာရွိ ျပည္သူအေပါင္းက ေဒၚစု ေျပာၾကားခဲ့ေသာ စကားမ်ား သတိရ၍ ညီညြတ္စြာ ထၾကြၾကပါရန္ ေလးစားစြာ ပန္ၾကား အပ္ပါသည္။

Burma Point Condemns Trial of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi



Burma Point is deeply concerned by the recent news that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of Burma’s freedom movement and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has been taken to Insein Prison to face trial this morning. Insein Prison is notorious for its torture of political prisoners. Burma Point is concerned that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is at grave risk.


Burma Point, together with other human rights monitoring and advocacy organizations, has condemned the house arrest which has kept Daw Aung San Suu Kyi detained for 13 of the past 19 years. The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has also ruled that the ruling military junta, the SPDC, is in violation of international and domestic law for her detention.


While it is not currently clear from the initial reports of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s lawyer, Kyi Win, what exactly these fresh charges consist of, they will likely pertain to a recent incident in which U.S. national John Yettaw was able to gain access to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s compound before being detained by Burmese military police.


Burma Point demands the immediate release of Aung San Suu Kyi and her personal physician, Dr. Tin Myo Win. Burma Point will lead in global protests against her detention until she is able to return home and granted freedom. Burma Point also asks that the UN and United States take actions to condemn such violations of human rights and mediate to help gain freedom for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.


Finally, Burma Point calls upon the international community to rise up and show support for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. The organization asks that activists around the globe remember her words: “Use your liberty to promote ours” because “we are prisoners in our own country”.
